A Detective Garda who was set upon by two pitbull terriers and a Yorkshire terrier has been awarded €207,000 in the Dublin High Court. The attack occurred when the Garda had entered a house in Galway where heroin was distributed. The Garda gave evidence that the dogs were extremely vicious. His leg wounds required 100 stitches and he was out of work for a year and still suffers from Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder.
